All Hallows All the Time

A rather cool start to the show & go ride from Summerhaven last Saturday, but a couple of intrepid riders showed up and reported that it was one of the most pleasurable rides of the year. Good show! This Saturday the KVBC ride falls on Halloween, and we will head off on our traditional tour of the cemeteries of Wayne, with a potential stop at the Apple Shed bakery in Kents Hill. Costumes are optional (please include helmets and try to avoid any clothing or accouterments that might get snagged in your bike's machinery), Hope to see you Saturday as we close out the month of October! Saturday, October 31 - WAYNE "Wicked Wayne" - an All Hallows ride featuring some historic cemeteries along some quiet back roads (maybe too quiet). START: 10:00 AM at the Wayne Elementary School, 48 Pond Road, Wayne. DISTANCE: about 22 miles. TERRAIN: moderate, creepy in spots. HIGHLIGHTS: at least six local cemeteries, including the circular Wing family cemetery and the Kent family cemetery; the Apple Shed on Kents Hill, a notorious, unsolved historic crime scene, and other local haunts. LEADER: Jim Merrick, hjmerrick@gmail.com, 293-3784.
