New Old Jerseys

Still watching the weekend weather for a ride opening free of ice and snow. Meanwhile, as a follow-up for ordering the "old-style" KVBC jersey (if you missed out the first few go-rounds, or want a different size, or color, or sleeve-length, or whatever) Champion System is offering us a 20% discount for a club order before the end of the year. Thus the less-expensive Tech Lite jersey (normally $44) would be $35.20, and the more-expensive Tech Pro jersey (normally $54) would be $43.20 [unless my math is wrong]. Here's a link to their current sizing charts: https://champ-sys.com/sizing-guide. They also claim to have a 3-week turn-around, and they offer crash replacement jerseys - they even offer to send you a smaller size if your increased cycling boosts your fitness level so that your jersey no longer fits. (They don't offer to send you a larger size if your increased cycling range causes you to stop at more pastry shops, alas.) So let me know if you are interested, and we may also arrange for another round of ordering the new-style jerseys as well.

New Jerseys! And Caps!

The new Kennebec Valley Bicycle Club jerseys - and caps! - are available for ordering online, now through September 17.  Here is the link to the KVBC store: https://teamstore.ascendsportswear.com/store/kennebec-valley-bicycle-club/

The jerseys are available in what they call the "Elevate" style, in a full range of sizes and in both a "Club" and "Sport" fit, in long-sleeve, short-sleeve, and sleeveless jersey styles.  Check their sizing and style charts carefully before ordering.

The store will also carry KVBC cycling caps as an accessory.  The caps are apparently made from the same material as the jerseys, rated at a UPF factor of 25+.  We may have additional accessories offered at some future date, but for now, the "store" has only jerseys and caps.

Ordering from the store is said to be similar to ordering from Amazon.  There are options of having your purchases sent directly to you (at an additional shipping charge) or to the club (and we will distribute them when they come in).  The "store" is open for ordering for two weeks, so if you plan to order a jersey, get your order in by September 16 to be on the safe side.  Any questions, send them along and we'll try to get answers for you promptly.  Many thanks to Jake for working on the design and ordering details!

KVBC Jerseys

We are placing another order for KVBC cycling jerseys. If you would like to order a new jersey, we will need to know: what size, what background color (either yellow or black), whether you want short sleeves, long sleeves, or sleeveless, and finally, whether the jersey should be in a woman's cut, or a man's club cut or a man's race cut. For information on Champion System's sizing, see here. We will also be ordering matching cycling socks, and you can find the sock sizing guide here. If you plan to order a jersey please contact Jim Merrick at hjmerrick@gmail.com as soon as you can, as we hope to place the next order quickly.

KVBC Jerseys

Are you feeling left out? Outside looking in? Not part of the "in crowd"? Lacking that one thing that will show the World that you belong - that you have arrived?

Well, money can't buy you happiness, but 44 bucks can get you a new KVBC jersey, and that might do the trick! Several people have asked about acquiring jerseys, and if we can get orders for about ten items together, we can submit a new order. We have designs for two jerseys: one mostly yellow and one mostly black, and we have in the past been able to combine orders for both. The entry-level (or least expensive) jersey is the CS Tech Lite at $44 each (minimum order of ten). There are a lot of jersey options, fabrics, and styles - men's jerseys are either "Club Cut" or "Race Cut." For descriptions and details refer to the Champion System website and their updated sizing charts
A product price list can be downloaded here. In the past, some of our women members have ordered men's jerseys that best matched their size, as they preferred a longer cut. If you have questions it might be best to ask one of the women on a club ride for advice.

If you would like to order a jersey, contact Jim Merrick at hjmerrick@gmail.com.

KVBC Club Jerseys

Hi Folks,
We are ready to put in an order for the Kennebec Valley Bicycle Club jerseys!  I would like to get an order in by May 15, if possible, so we can have jerseys about 3 to 4 weeks later, sometime around mid-June.  If you would like to order a jersey, or several, I'll need to know:
How Many?
What Size(s)?
Zipper preference (3/4 or full-zip)?
The company, Champion System, has information on the fabrics and configurations they provide, as well as links to sizing charts: http://champ-sys.com/browse-custom-apparel/cycling-collection/mens-cycling-collection/tech-short-sleeve-jersey.html.  The basic jersey is the Tech Short Sleeve Jersey, at $48.00; the long sleeve version is $60.00.  They have jerseys with additional features, and you can add those to your order - I'll just need the additional specs.  All of the jerseys will be non-returnable, so pay heed to their sizing charts, etc., and contact me if you have any questions.
Then I'll need you to send me a check, made out to "James Merrick" in the amount of your order, or alternatively, you can pay me directly in cash on an upcoming ride.  But I will need payment before I put in an order.  Once the jerseys are delivered I can bring them on a ride and hand-deliver them; otherwise I'll need addresses where to send them.
Thanks for your patience.  If you're undecided by May 15, I may be able to place a second order later in the season, if there is enough additional interest.
Don't forget: tomorrow's ride is in Skowhegan at the Oak Pond Brewery at 10 AM!

The Jersey Deliberation

If you haven't already done so, you have about 24 hours to enter the Bicycle Coalition of Maine's 20th Anniversary Cycling Jersey selection contest to select their new jersey. Out of all the votes they will have a drawing for one winner of a new jersey (whichever design that will be). I suppose if you win you can always say you had that design picked out from the start. Or that it was one of your top three choices. Something like that.

Which brings up the subject of a KVBC jersey! We need some ideas and cool designs. Maybe we can have a contest to see who can design the best jersey? Or even a jersey. Then we can have our own jersey contest! So, if your tastes run from contemporary to retro to somewhere in between, grab some crayons or markers and go to it. Send in your designs and we'll take it from there!
