Bring Out Your Lupines

Sunday's weather turned out to be much better than Saturday's for our hastily rescheduled ride from Vassalboro yesterday. We had a fine turnout and enjoyed blue skies and sunshine as well as some great roads. Many thanks to David for leading us and for the hot pizza at the ride's end! This Saturday we will kick off the month of June with a popular ride around Damariscotta Lake, known for the fields of Lupines in bloom, and a possible post-ride stop for ice cream at the Jefferson Scoop. We had a beautiful day for riding around Vassalboro and China on Sunday.  Lots of sunshine, warm weather, great scenery, and a fine turnout, topped off by a great lunch provided by our hosts, Laura and David.  Thank you once again!  We really appreciate it!  This Saturday we will head out to Jefferson for another very pretty ride, this time around Damariscotta Lake with fields of lupines in bloom.  Hope you can join us!

Show Us Your Lupines

 

We have had a long stretch of good riding weather, but the rains finally caught up with us and the hypothermic conditions over the weekend caused us to cancel the KVBC Sunday ride in Readfield.  Hopefully we will have a chance to reschedule the ride on another open date. Forecasts predict that the cold, rainy weather will break in time for our "Lupine Ride" this Saturday in Jefferson, which, truth be told, is pretty in any weather. Hope you can join us!

We had more fine weather for last Sunday's ride around Cobbossee Lake. The roadsides were flanked by an abundance of wild and cultivated flowers, and were in pretty good shape, except for a torn-up gravel section on the return route (my apologies). This Saturday we will circle another lake and hopefully see even more flowers on a very pretty route in its own right. Hope you can join us!

Bring Us Your Lupines

We are starting to see some high summer temperatures and summer is still 12 days away. We had another great turnout last Sunday in Norridgewock featuring scenic views, smooth pavement, some pretty descents, and a great post-ride gathering at the ride leaders'! Many thanks to Brian and Denise for another great club ride! Also, a shout-out to Laura and David Lipman for leading a successful Women's Ride with BCM in Augusta on Saturday - the ride was well-attended and well-appreciated!
