KVBC Rides for September

Here are the KVBC rides coming up in September. Please note that the weekend of Sept. 23-24 is still open! If you have a ride in mind, this opportunity could be yours! Also, the Sept. 29 "Share the Road with Carol" ride is actually not a KVBC ride, but that is an open date in the calendar, it is close by for many of us, and it is a very worthy event, so it is listed here. More details forthcoming as we get closer to the date. Hope you can make some of these rides as we head into Fall!

KVBC Rides in July

Here is the Kennebec Valley Bicycle Club revised ride schedule for July! If you experience any dizziness reading it, you need to go ride your bike. And you're in luck because we have SIX scheduled rides for July, with a space left open for the BCM Lobster Ride on the 22nd! Please note that the ride on the 15th will be the "Tour de Whitefield" originally scheduled for August, and that "Ken's Hot Dog Ride" in Mount Vernon will move to later in August (we just can't squander all the fun in July).
Don't forget tomorrow's rides on Sunday in Brunswick and Greenfield. See you on the road!

The Agenda: we will order out for pizza, discuss routes, and organize the ride calendar for the year. This is a group volunteer effort. We welcome input, and if you can't make the meeting but still have a ride you would like to lead (or help lead) or an unexplored ride you would like to do, let me know. We will meet at 6 PM Monday in Augusta near the Civic Center at the Law Offices of Lipman & Katz, courtesy of David Lipman, at 5 Community Drive.

KVBC Preliminary Ride Calendar for 2014

Leaning into another great riding season
We had a productive ride planning meeting last Sunday in Augusta.  Many thanks to all who showed up and offered to lead rides, and particularly to David Lipman who kindly provided his office and pizza for us.  We all appreciated his warmth and hospitality - especially the warmth, considering how cold it was when we met last year.  The preliminary dates for the KVBC Ride Calendar are below - there are still a number of open weekends, and if you couldn't make it to the meeting and would still like to lead a ride, check over the open dates and let me know if you can fill one of them.  Many of the dates are still tentative (or will be for the next week or two), so some switching around might be possible, too.  As always, we may have some last-minute, spur-of-the-moment, impromptu rides if we happen to get some unexpectedly fine weather in early Spring or late, late Fall.  Keep your chain oiled and your tires pumped up!  If this weather continues I won't have to urge anyone to Think Spring!

KVBC 2013 Ride Calendar

We had a great ride planning meeting last Monday - in spite of the last-minute snow squall.  Thanks to all who ventured out in the slick driving conditions, and to the Bicycle Coalition of Maine for our "one last time" use of their Augusta offices (and good luck on your move to Portland).  Here, below, is what we came up with for the KVBC 2013 Ride Calendar.  Many, many thanks to all who volunteered to lead rides!  For those of you who signed up for rides, please check the listing below and the Bicycle Coalition of Maine's EVENTS Page to verify the accuracy of your ride: start time, location, distance, etc.  Please get back to me by Friday, February 8, with any corrections.  If you are not on the list and you would like to lead a ride, please note the OPEN dates on the calendar and get back to me.  We have some great rides planned for this year, including the Kennebec River and Jay-Farmington Rail Trails, a return of the Camden Vineyard tour, and a few rides out near the coast.  Can hardly wait!
